Contact Medium

Sales & Marketing Definitions Glossary

Contact Medium is the method that a potential customer uses to contact you. In most organizations that drive leads through the internet, the following Contact Mediums apply:

  • Form submissions
  • Chats
  • Inbound Phone Calls
  • e-Commerce Transactions

It’s important to that you capture all web browsing data from a user and their sessions when they engage with you via any Contact Medium. Often times businesses limit their tracking to Marketing Channel (rather than granular session data) and lose visibility when a prospect contacts them via chat or phone call. This is a problem often caused by The Conversion Wall.
